Donald Leroy Warren

Mr. Donald L. Warren, age 86 of Clark, SD. died on Saturday afternoon, July 31, 2010 in a Clark care center where he has resided for the past 4 1/2 years. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11AM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with The Reverend Mark Guthmiller officiating. Casketbearers will be Willie Gruenwald, Rev. Mark Guthmiller, Rob McGraw and Ethan Audus. Burial with a family graveside service by the Reverend David Bendix will take place on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 1PM in the North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer, IA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning 2 hours preceding services in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel. He was born at Spencer, IA, on November 9, 1923, the son of LeRoy C. and Gladys (Ferguson) Warren. He grew to adulthood in the Spencer area attending school there. For several years Don traveled with the Barnum & Bailey Circus throughout the United States appearing in several shows. He especially enjoyed returning to Iowa where they performed at several county fairs. Don also worked as a self-employed carpenter and was a semi driver for many years. He lived in Beresford, SD for a time before moving to Clark in the 1990s. While living in Beresford and Clark he mowed lawns for many people. Even though Don had a disability of having one arm from an accident in his early years, he was not afraid to tackle most any job. He was a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors include his siblings, James Warren of Sioux City, IA, Raymond Warren of St. Francis, MN, Clifford (Betty) Warren of Spencer, IA, Dean (Judy) Warren of Wadena, MN, Anna Schoeneman of Sutherland, IA and Alice (Jim) Larson of Spencer, IA, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, sister, Myrtle (Orville) Lau, sister-in-laws, Collean and Berry Warren, a brother-in-law, Eugene Schoeneman, nieces, Linda and Laurie Warren and a grandniece.
