Donald Henry Temple was born on May 21, 1933 in Hague Township, near Willow Lake, the son of John B. and Johanna (Jannssen) Temple. He attended school in Hague Township. He has lived and farmed on the same family farm since he was 8 years old.
On January 7, 1956 he was united in marriage to Eleanor Thompson. After their marriage they resided on the family farm where they have lived continuously until June of 2006 when they moved into Clark.
Besides his love of the land, he thoroughly enjoyed history, especially looking at old pictures. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting in earlier days - rekindling that liking this year, listening to old country music and having coffee and visiting with his neighbors. A hobby for him this past summer was his garden - everything from potatoes to tomatoes and corn. He was extremely proud if it, even if Eleanor thought it was still way too big! Donald will long be remembered for his love of teasing and his "bear hugs" to his nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed spending time with.
He was a member of The Hague Evangelical Lutheran Church near Willow Lake until its closing when he then became a member of the Willow Lake Evangelical Lutheran (WELS) Church.
Grateful for having shared his life is his wife of 52 years, Eleanor of Clark, children, Sheila Lorimer of Aurora, CO, Kayleen Temple of Thornton, CO and Gary (Jeanne) Temple of Pine Junction, CO; 3 grandchildren, Shannon Lachermeier, Suzanne Lorimer and Kyler Temple and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaine and Brianna Lachermeier. He also leaves siblings, Shirley Madsen of Carpenter, SD, Jean Partridge and Louise (Donald) Strand all of Jefferson, WI and Dennis (Eunice) Temple of Bullhead City, AZ.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, John G. Temple, a sister, Alma Bonnie (Jimmy) Falkenberg and brothers-in-law, Russell Madsen and Patrick Partridge.
