Donald "Donnie" Hagstrom

Donald "Donnie" Hagstrom, age 55, of Watertown, SD, formerly of Clark, died Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls with family by his side.

A visitation will be held at the Furness Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 1-3 PM.  A private family burial will be held later.

Donald Gary Hagstrom was born June 5, 1968 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to parents Sandy (Bruns) Murphy and Gary Hagstrom. "Donnie", as he became known, attended grade school in Doland before moving to Clark where he graduated from Clark High School in 1987.

He joined the United States Marines in 1989 and served our country honorably until 1993.  While in the Marines, he trained for a time in Japan before serving during Operation Desert Storm where he was responsible for sweeping for land mines.

On June 4, 1994, he married Jody Caulfield.  To this union, they had a son, Gunnar. On February 5, 2016, he was united in marriage to Dawn Denly.  He was co-owner of Florey Heating and Air Conditioning for a time and then served as service manager at West Side Equipment.

Donnie enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, spending time with Gunnar and family members.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Bill and Vivian Bruns and Gus and Fran Hagstrom, a baby sister, Cheryl, step-father, Donald Murphy, and father-in-law, Jim Endres.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Dawn, son, Gunnar (Shelby Rosenau), grandchildren Kamden and Hadley, step-son, Jacob Schnackenberg, his mother, Sandy Murphy, his father, Gary Hagstrom, siblings, Dawn Finstad, Shawn (Jason) Moe, and Shane (Steph) Hagstrom, his mother-in-law, Maxine (Mike) Kemp and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests casual dress for the visitation.
