Dolores Adele Grimes, age 75, died at her home southeast of Conde on Sunday evening June 11, 2006. She was the widow of Wesley Red Grimes. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2006 at 11AM in the United Methodist Church at Conde with the Rev. Jan Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Conde Cemetery. Honorary casketbearers will be her grandchildren. Active casketbeaers will be Lynn Sanderson, Kent Geary, Loren Siefken, Stanley Schulz, Ola Barnes and Norman Smith. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6-8PM with a 7PM Public Prayer service all in the United Methodist Church at Conde. There will not be any visitation prior to the funeral service on Friday. She was born on December 28, 1930 on the farm southeast of Conde, the daughter of Henry and Elma (Claussen) Buising. She attended rural school and then Conde School graduating in 1948. After completing the 6 week teaching coarse at Northern Normal in Aberdeen she taught country school 1 mile south of the farm. On her 18th birthday, December 28 of 1948 she was united in marriage to Wesley I Red Grimes in Conde. The couple lived and farmed their entire life southeast of Conde. While living on the farm she also was employed at the Clark Care Center as a nurses aide for over 15 years. Mr. Grimes died on September 10, 2004. Some of her hobbies included quilting, gardening and raising chickens. A quilt square, being worked on, was found in her new sewing machine. With her husband running a custom combining crew, Dolores tended to their family farm. In the community she was involved in being a 4-H Leader for over 30 years. She was in the inaugural class of the 4-H Leaders Hall of Fame in 2002. She was a member of the Conde United Methodist Church, the UMW, and taught Sunday School and Bible School. Dolores was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Patricia Griesse and husband Alan of Sioux Falls, Thomas Grimes and wife Bonnie of Marshall, MN, Sheila Johnson and husband Dale of Brule, NE, Bonnie Punt and husband Darwin of Oacoma, SD and Gerald Grimes of Sioux Falls; 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters, Betty Taylor of Conde, Wanda Grimes and husband Burleigh of Crown Point, IN and Diane Ketel and husband Ken of Rapid City.
