The following is Diane's obituary in her own words:

"I was born on February 2, 1949 to Morris Delbert Zeck and Lorraine (Paulson) Zeck. They named me Diana Ray but my sister Sherry, age 2, couldn't say it. She kept saying Diane Kay so they changed it to Diane Kay. And that's when my sister started ruling my life! We lived on a farm near Raymond until I was 2, then we moved to Igloo, SD where Dad worked at the US Army Depot. We then moved to Hot Springs where I attended grades 1 through 7. We then moved to Wall where Dad worked on the Minute Man Missile sites for the US Army Corp of Engineers. I also attended schools in Chugwater, WY and Lakota, ND. We moved back to Clark in 1965.

I married the love of my life on January 28, 1974 in Aberdeen, Jack E. Hansen. He was the best husband I could have found. Jack adopted my daughters Cheryl Lorraine and Kristina Louise. They were thrilled to become Hansen's. We also had one son, Scott Arthur.

In 1994, Jack started having health problems so we decided to move to Watertown. We sold the farm to Scott in 1999 and moved to Watertown. Scott continues to live on the farm with his wife Amy. He has lived there since he was 4 years old.

Next to my family, I am most proud of getting my GED in 1987. I went to Webster and studied there for awhile and then tested in Watertown.

I worked at Prairie Lakes Hospital and Care Center for almost 13 years in Dietary. In 2008 I started at Jenkins as a receptionist for almost 6 years retiring January 31, 2014.

I am survived by my children Cheryl Johnson and her fiancé Mike Fuhrmann, Rapid City, Kris Nisich (Terry McLaughlin), Sioux Falls, and Scott (Amy) Hansen, Garden City; sister Sherry (Ken) Langton of Pueblo, CO; brother Charlie (Rita) Zeck of Clark; 8 grandchildren, Stacy Owen, Henderson, NV, Brandon Johnson, Rapid City, Spencer Johnson, Newell, Seth Fuhrmann, Rapid City, Jackson Hansen, Winner, Bailee Brown, Sioux Falls, Josh Kurkowski, Watertown, and Logan Redlin, Watertown;  2 great grandchildren, Zachary and Cheyenne Owen; nieces and nephews Misty, Micki, Mike, Jim, and Jenny; several great nieces and nephews; and the joy of her life, her dog Lola.

Preceded in death by husband Jack in 2006; parents Morris and Lorraine Zeck; maternal grandparents Charles and Helen Paulson and paternal grandparents Milo and Hazel Zeck." Arrangements are with Furness Funeral Home in Clark where there is an online registry at www.furnessfuneralhome.com .
