DeLane Isaak, age 80, longtime Clark educator, died in the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital in Sioux Falls early Sunday morning, June 12, 2016.

On Tuesday, July 19th a public memorial visitation will be held from 6 - 7 p.m. with a brief public memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark.  Julayne Thoreson will present a eulogy with Pastor Brad Traxler offering a prayer and scripture reading.  A fellowship time will follow in the funeral home reception area.

A private burial with family members present was held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 9AM in the Seventh Day Adventist Kulm    Cemetery near Kulm, North Dakota.

DeLane W. Isaak was born June 14, 1935 at Forbes, ND to      William and Emma (Roesler) Isaak.  He attended school in Ashley, ND, Bowden, ND and graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1953.  He continued his education at Minot State University, Boston University, the University of Kentucky and the University of         Connecticut. DeLane obtained his masters degree and credits toward his doctorate degree. He served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1959 and while enlisted, he traveled to various parts of the world. He   married Joanne Spencer on August 14, 1960.

"Mr. Isaak" began teaching English classes at Clark High School in 1984 and retired from teaching in 2000.  He then served for 6 years on the Clark School Board.

In his free moments, he enjoyed stamp collecting, collecting autographs, and bird watching.  His collection had many autographs of various statesmen and celebrities. DeLane was a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents,  a granddaughter, Megan Leader. and a sister Darlene Rodacker.

Survivors include his wife Joanne of Clark, his children, Gregory (Gabriela) Isaak of Pahrump, NV, Mary (Regan) Leader of Prescott, AZ, and Geoffrey Isaak of Berrien Springs, MI; and four grandchildren, William, Benjamin, Aubrey and Asher.
