C. Dean Bollerslev, age 80. Huron, formerly of Doland, died in the Golden Living Center at Redfield early Tuesday morning, August 30, 2011. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11AM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with The Reverend Bill Holmes officiating. The pianist will be Dorothy Fuller with Judy Mayer as soloist. She will sing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden". Honorary casketbearers are Willie & Leonard Kaufman. Active casketbearers are Lance Mason, Kevin & Perry Hofer, Bill, Drew, Gene and Robert Weinreis and Dave Madsen. Burial will follow in the Doland Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services in the funeral home chapel. He was born Clair Dean Bollerslev on August 5, 1931 on the family farm near Doland, the son of Martin and Blanche (Lea) Bollerslev. He attended the Lawrence School southwest of Doland and then worked on the family farm. He married Phylis Weinreis on February 5, 1978 and the couple farmed southeast of Doland until they retired in 1992 and moved to Huron. She died in 2005. Besides the love of the land, Dean enjoyed playing cards, taking the grandkids into Doland for ice cream and treats, coffee time, a good debate and having a nickname for nearly everyone. He also enjoyed the fall hunting season with the out of state hunters, especially visiting with them. Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings, Carroll, Jack & Charles Weinreis, a son-in-law, Clayton Kline, step-son, James Craig Weinreis and 2 step-grandchildren, Derek and Amanda Jean Weinreis. Survivors include his siblings, Clifton Bollerslev of Doland and Ruth Kline of Watertown, nieces, Kerry Kline of Clark and Kristi Kline of Brandon, 3 great-nieces and a great-nephew. He also leaves step-children, Mary (Tom) Anderson of WI, Teresa (Ralph) Perry of CA, Caleen (Bill) Keating of Sioux Falls, Gene (Marsha) Weinreis of Doland, Robert (Robin) Weinreis of Watertown, Betty Weinreis and friend Dan of MN and Bill (Candy) Weinreis of Huron, 18 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
