Dawnette Marie Austin

Dawnette Marie Austin, age 51, Willow Lake, the daughter of Dick and Jan Austin of Willow Lake, died on Thursday night, April 22, 2021, after a two year illness of Guillian-Barre' Syndrome.

At her request, there will be a private, family only graveside service in Collins Cemetery at Willow Lake on Thursday. Pastor Robbie McClelland will officiate.  There will be no visitation, also at her request.

Dawnette Marie Austin was born on February 2, 1970, at Huron, SD, the daughter of Richard and Janet (Nelson) Austin.  She attended schools in Huron, graduating from Huron High School in 1988.

Following high school, Dawnette went to work for Midcom at Huron. Later she worked for Pipestone Systems at Clark.

Dawnette will long be remembered for her love of animals.  She also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her parents, Dick & Jan Austin of Willow Lake, a daughter, Ashley (Casey) Harty of DeSmet, five grandchildren, and a sister, Yvonne McDonald of Brandon.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Iner and Lucille Nelson.
