David Lee Hagen, age 53, Hillsboro, OR, formerly of Clark, the son of the late Ole & Ruth (Bakken) Hagen, died at his home in Hillsboro on Monday, October 6, 2008 of a short illness due to genetic hemochromatosis. He is the brother of Sharon (Gregg) Stormo of Clark.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 PM on October 18, 2008 at Orenco Presbyterian Church; 6420 NW Oelrich Rd, Hillsboro, OR 97124. Memorial Services in South Dakota will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11AM in the Crocker Lutheran Church with Minister Marion Grimes officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will be in the Calvary Lutheran Cemetery near Bradley. David was born on October 28, 1954 at Clark, the son of Ole and Ruth (Bakken) Hagen. He lived near Bradley, SD attending school at Clark. He graduated from Clark High School in 1972. A couple of years following graduation he moved to Spokane, WA where he worked at a shipyard building ships. He later moved to Hillsboro where he met and married Lori Ross on August 27. 1988. Currently he was employed by TTX, Western Union Railroad as a railroad maintenance engineer. He worked there until about 3 weeks ago when he became ill. He loved the mountains and lakes of Oregon because of his love of fishing, hunting and boating. He will be remembered for being an avid fan of NASCAR racing. He traveled to many of their races. David enjoyed traveling to places such as Alaska, Hawaii, California, Arizona, Mexico and cruises, but he said the vacation he took two years ago during the Crocker, SD centennial was the best one he ever had. He enjoyed seeing all his friend he grew up with in this area and 'just had a great time'. David was well known in the area for his exceptional drum playing. He played for various bands among them being 'The Western Wranglers' and 'The Evolutions'. His most requested drum solo was the song 'Wipe Out'. Survivors include his wife Lori of Hillsboro, a step-son Jeff Ross and his fiance Ginger Chadwick both of Aloha, OR, a sister, Sharon (Gregg) Stormo of Clark, nieces, Kerri Stormo and Kristi Stormo, a nephew Jason Stormo, two great-nieces, Savanah and Jusytce, three great nephews, Eric, Michael and Tyler and an aunt, Clara Ness of Spearfish and many cousins.
