David Clausen

David Clausen, age 60, of Watertown, formerly of Clark, died Friday, April 7, 2023 at a hospital in Nashville, TN.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Furness Funeral Home from 5-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Clark at 10:30 AM with celebrant, the Reverend John Short.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews. Active pall bearers will be Dan Finke, Mark Bauer, Mark Bayles, Erik Werner, Paul Luken, Jammy Eitreim, and Carlos Garcia.

David Clausen was born November 15, 1962 to parents Harold "Corky" and Donna (Claussen) Clausen in Watertown, SD, the youngest of their six children.  He attended school in Clark and worked most of his life in the Clark area.  He followed in his dad's footsteps of construction work and currently worked with his brother Ron and nephew Eric in Clausen Construction of Watertown and Clark.

David or "Pudgy" as he became affectionately known, loved to spend time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed traveling, had been a big NASCAR fan, and loved spending time at the lake.  He relished time spent socializing with his friends and always was up for a good time. He always had a grin on his face and time to chat.

Dave was a good cook and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and once in a while, you would get in on one of his happy hours. He loved dancing and a few lucky ladies remember him twirling them around the dance floor. David truly enjoyed life.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his grandparents and a brother-in-law, Mike Parish.

Grateful to have shared his life are his siblings, Judy Parish of Watertown, Jeanne (Lee) Werdel of Clark, Kenny (Karen) Clausen of Watertown, Mary (Rod) Hurlbut of Raymond, and Ron (Lisa) Clausen of Clark, several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends.

Dave, you were the best brother and best friend we could've asked for and you made us all so proud! We miss you and we love you so much!
