Cynthia Geise Larson

Cynthia Geise Larson, age 66, Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Clark, died peacefully surrounded by family in a hospice home in Las Vegas early Sunday morning, July 9, 2017 after a courageous battle of cancer.

Cindy Rose Larson was born on June 1, 1951 in Watertown, SD to Elwin and Doris Geise of Clark, SD.   Jesus welcomed her to  her new home on July 9, 2017.  Cindy was a 37-year resident of Las Vegas, NV.  She was a vocal music major in college, but later obtained her Master's Degree in Social Work.  Cindy worked as a clinical social worker for the State of Nevada and Boys Town of Nevada.

The joys of her life were her family; her husband, children, the birth of her grandchildren, and also "Tilly", her teacup Chihuahua.  Cindy's charming personality and great sense of humor touched many close friends and endeared her to countless others.  She was tiny in stature, but a "giant" of a woman in courage and strength as evidenced in her three-year campaign against cancer.  She was loving, warm, thoughtful, wonderfully silly, and wise.  She was a woman of unfaltering faith and abiding devotion.  She loved leading her Bible studies and always found ways to reflect God's goodness in her life.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Lynn (formerly of Arlington, SD); daughter Jaymie (Damon) Cutting; son Brett (Sandi) Larson; four grandchildren all of Las Vegas, NV; brother Ron (Brenda) Geise of Flagstaff, AZ, and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwin and Doris Geise.

She was honored in a memorial service at Shadow Hills Church on July 14rh in Las Vegas, NV. A special remembrance service will be held in Clark, SD on August 6th at 2:00 PM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service, a private burial of her ashes will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark, SD.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cindy's name to Conquer Cancer Foundation.

The Furness Funeral Home of Clark is serving the family where there is an on-line registry at www.furnessfuneralhome.com
