Crystal N. Moment, 94, Huron, the widow of Lyle Moment, died in the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron early Friday morning, September 12, 2014. Visitation with the family present will be from 5PM-7PM on Monday at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with a 7PM Prayer Service led by The Reverend Alexander Haines. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11AM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with Pastor Donna Nickels officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 10AM-11AM Tuesday morning in Clark. The pianist will be Dorothy Fuller. Serving as casketbearers will be Cory and Jason Mallon, Derek and Darin Tranberg and Rick Jones. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark. Following the burial, everyone is invited to join the family in the Furness Funeral Home reception area for a dinner and a time of fellowship. She was born Crystal Nellie Draisey on October 20, 1919 at her parents, George and Nellie (Anderson) Draisey, at Clark. On October 10, 1943 she was united in marriage to Lyle Moment. They made their home on the Moment homestead north of Clark. Crystal worked at Brown's Café prior to her marriage to Lyle Moment. After raising her family to high school age, she began waitressing at the M & M Truck Stop Café, the Imperial Supper Club and later at the Corner Pantry all in Clark. In 2001 she moved to Huron to be closer to her daughter, Kay. Crystal loved to dance, enjoying countless hours on the dance floor. She and Lyle were usually the first ones on the dance floor. While living on the farm, she had a big garden and canned "everything", and made all her children's clothes. She belonged to a neighborhood crochet club and her and Lyle played many a games of pinochle and whist. She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Clark and later the Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron. Crystal was a member of the Huron Area Senior Citizens Center going every day to have lunch and play dominos or pinochle. She entered SunQuest Healthcare Center in February of 2011. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Lyle in 1966, an infant daughter, Sharon; a granddaughter-in-law, Kelly Mallon; two brothers Howard (Thora) Draisey and Forrest (Shirley) Draisey and a sister, Rosanna (Joe) Tessem. Crystal is survived by two daughters, Kay (Patrick) Mallon of Huron and Julie (Larry) Tranberg of Blaine, MN, a son, James of Idaho; four grandsons, Cory (Teresa) Mallon; Jason (Nicki) Mallon; Derek (Christina) Tranberg and Darin (Amber) Tranberg; a granddaughter, Jackie Moment; one step-grandson, Rick (Jodi) Jones; four great-grandsons, Raistlan, Keagan, Nicholas and Craig; five-great-granddaughters, Kira, Brooke, Kori, Zaydie and Kinsley and several nieces and nephews.
