Craig Hall Rasmusson was born March 31, 1936 in Clark, SD, the only child of Ella (Lacount) and Rudolph Rasmusson. He attended Garfield Country School through eighth grade and then graduated from Clark High School in 1954.
On June 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Jeanice Alexander at the United Methodist Church in Clark. The couple lived in the Garden City/Elrod areas until moving to a farm west of Bradley in 1964 where they raised Quarter horses and Hereford cattle. In 1968, they purchased the Modern Refrigerated Lockers at Bradley which they owned and operated for 25 years. In 2001, they sold the farm and moved into Clark. Jeanice died in 2007. In 2019, Craig moved into Wookey's Assisted Living Center where he currently resided.
Craig was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clark. Some of his greatest joys in life included raising Quarter horses and Hereford Cattle. Two of his Quarter horses competed in the world championships and one was named South Dakota's All-Around Quarter Horse Champion. Craig participated in horse shows, rodeos and trail rides, ran the chutes at the Clark High School Rodeos, and a participant in the Uecker Shodeo trying his hand at wild cow milking. He was a former member of the Clark Saddle and Bridle Club. Craig was a long-time league bowler at the Clark Bowling Alley. He will be remembered for his hearty laugh and mischievous grin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy, his wife Jeanice, and his daughter Lori Dale.
Craig leaves behind his son, Todd (Kristy) Rasmusson of Ardmore, OK, son-in-law, David Dale of Garden City, grandchildren Justin (Becki) Dale, Darci (Brice) Bultje, Ember Dale (Kasey Jons), CJ Rasmusson, Eric Armadore, Casey (Brittany) Rasmusson, Tony (Amy) Leptien, and eleven great-grandchildren.
