Cory Ray Binger, age 47, of Clark died early Saturday, December 8, 2018 in a Sioux Falls hospital with family by his side from a comprehensive stroke that occured at home Thursday morning, December 6.
There will be a memorial visitation beginning at 5PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018. At 7PM there will be a time of sharing, watching a memorial tribute DVD, listening to music, and prayers. Pastor Kerry Ascher will facilitate the gathering. During the evening there will be fellowship time with coffee and some of Cory's favorite treats.
He was born on October 16, 1971 at Aberdeen, SD, the son of Terry & LaVonne (Ascher) Binger. He attended school in Mobridge where his parents taught. Cory graduated from Mobridge High School in 1990. After high school he attended Lake Area Technical Institute at Watertown.
Cory and his wife Andrea (Osborne) were married on April 23, 2004, lived in Clark where they raised their combined family of five children; Tyler, Cortney, Gage, Emily, and Cayden who is their blessing from Cory's and Andrea's marriage.
Over the years Cory worked for several electricians in Aberdeen, Clark, and Watertown. Cory and Andrea owned and operated The Pheasant Motel at Clark from June of 2006 to December of 2012. He currently was employed by Worthington Ag Parts at Watertown, a job he thoroughly loved.
In the community Cory was the Jr. High Football coach for several years and also was assistant coach when Clark High School won the State Championship in 2002. In addition to coaching football, he was active with his own kids' sports assisting with basketball and wrestling.
His fellow employees and former classmates were very important to him. He loved the Miami Dolphins, 4-wheeling (especially with Cayden), watching any sports, especially Cayden's Special Olympics. Cory loved being surround by family and truly enjoyed talking and sharing stories. He never asked for the cake to be baked, only drink the batter! Cory will long be remembered for being a big guy, his huge smile and even bigger heart, and of course his humor! Cory was "Papa" to grandson, Bentley.
Preceding his in death were his grandparents, Irene and Clyde Binger, Kenny and Ramona Ascher, his mother and father-in-law, Jeanne Osborne and Mike Osborne.
Survivors include his wife Andrea of Clark, Children, Tyler (Jamie) Binger of Clark, Gage Binger of Sioux Falls, Cortney Binger, Emily (fiancé Chris Hagen) Binger all of Florence, Cayden Binger of Clark and a grandson, Bentley Ray. Also surviving are his parents, Terry & LaVonne Binger of Watertown, brothers, Kevin (Kendra) Binger of Moorhead, MN, Curtis (Melany) Binger of Brandon, a nephew Cody and nieces, Lindy and Bristol. In-laws surviving, Mandy (Corey ) Audiss of Hamill, SD, and Shawn (Valerie) Osborne of Anchorage, Alaska and nieces, Livia Claire, Harper Rhian, Jackson James and Aedan Nathaniel. One cannot forget the grand-puppies, Duke and Bella and yes his cats, Tweek and Tuna. God Bless the Memory of Cory Binger.
