Surrounded by love and supported by many, Cole William Schuelke peacefully left this earth for heaven on December 13, 2025, at USD Sanford Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church in Willow Lake at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Colin Beveridge officiating. A meal and time of fellowship will also be held at the church following the service and burial at Collins Cemetery in Willow Lake. Visitation will be held the evening prior, Friday, December 19, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Furness Funeral Home is assisting the Schuelke family with arrangements.
Cole was born in Sioux Falls, SD on February 12, 1994. He attended and graduated from Willow Lake High School. He excelled in sports. After graduation he attended Northern State University where he wrestled. Cole continued his education at Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls, and graduated with a degree in Law Enforcement Science and worked for the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Department. He returned to college and graduated with a degree in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology. Cole worked at USD Medical Center and Monument Health. He enjoyed a traveling position that let him experience several locations.
Cole was a mama’s boy who had a contagious smile that made you wonder what he was up to. He enjoyed hiking and outdoor adventures, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Cole treasured his family. His presence will be forever missed by his family including his parents, Chuck and Marlene; brothers: Steve (Aimee), Brian (Rachel), Lucas (Alicia), and Kevin; his sisters: Sarah (Thea), Sioux, Megan, and Samantha; his nephews: Cadin, Conor, Oakley, Jaxten, Atlee, and Bridger; his nieces: Jesse, Harper, Ella, Jezzy, Tatum, and Tayleigh; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cole was welcomed into heaven by his grandparents Bill and Betty Grimm and Ellanora and William Schuelke; and his best friend Cody. It makes us smile wondering what shenanigans those two are up to.
Cole will be remembered for the huge presence he had within all of our lives. Although we can’t imagine life without him, he will continue to be loved and will be greatly missed.
