Charles "Dick" Richard Brede

Charles "Dick" Brede, died Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron, SD.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Carpenter Methodist Church in Carpenter, South Dakota at 2:00 p.m.

Charles Richard Brede was born February 10, 1936, to Tony and Hilda (Edwards) Brede in Doland, SD. He attended school in Doland and was the first of five children. On April 8, 1965, he was united in marriage to Sherry Board from Carpenter, SD, where they resided all their married lives. To this union, five children were born, Brad, Stacey, Brent, Joel and Troy. During his life, he worked at Farmers Union, Cenex and South Dakota Wheat Growers until he retired.

Once retired, Dick loved to help his wife Sherry in the café and visit with friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his brother Tom, sisters Nancy and Judy, and two sons, Joel and Brad.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry, sons Troy and Brent with wife Stephanie, all of Carpenter, daughter Stacey and her husband Rick of Beaver Lake, NE, his sister June Litton of KS, along with his grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Furness Funeral Home of Clark, SD is assisting the family with arrangements.
