Carol Ann Rasmussen was born on December 12 th , 1941 to Florence Laura (Meier) and Oscar Hoefke in LaCrosse, WI.

Carol worked at Harold's Department Store in Uptown Minneapolis in accounts receivable and then later as a switchboard operator. During this time, she met her husband Dick through mutual friends and they spent many nights talking on the phone together while dating and then were united in marriage on August 9 th , 1964 in Crocker, SD. A few years later, in 1967 they welcomed their 1 st child, Tim, and then 5 years later in 1972 they welcomed their 2 nd child Cindy.   Carol loved being a mom and cherished time with family.

In 1973 they moved from Minneapolis to the Helen Meyer farm in Crocker, SD where Dick farmed on his family farm.  Carol worked as a Home Health Aid for Prairie Lakes Hospital and at Country View Assisted Living Center in Florence, SD.  In 2004 they moved to Watertown and Carol worked as a lunch aid at the Watertown Schools and she loved being around all the children.

Carol has made a huge imprint in so many lives!  She was such a hard worker who took pride in keeping her house clean and enjoyed camping, gardening and canning.  She was a wonderful cook and was famous for the best hotdishes!  She hosted many family get-togethers. Carol loved animals and will always be remembered by her family as "The Treat Lady" because she had a soft spot for all our family dogs and always had a bag of treats in her hand when the dogs showed up at her home.

Carol was a member of the Crocker Lutheran Church.  She taught Sunday School for many years and was involved in Ladies Aid and helped at many different church events.
