Brian Pommer, age 68, formerly of Willow Lake, died at home in Missoula, Montana on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
Brian Lee Pommer was born September 27, 1953, in, Watertown, SD, the son of Glenn & Elaine Pommer of Clark, SD. He joined siblings Marilyn (Kay), Sharon, Deborah, & Dale. He died at his home in Missoula MT. on March 26, 2022 of natural causes after several years of failing health.
He grew up in Clark, SD until January 1965 when the family moved to Miles City, MT. Brian was an avid golfer, woodworker, reader, singer, and guitar player. He sang in church choir, high school chorus and in the elite singing group, "The Choraleers". Brian played baseball and was a member of the golf team.
Brian worked for IRS after high school, then attended Montana State University in Bozeman, MT where he earned a degree in criminal justice. He moved to Missoula, MT and worked a variety of jobs in construction, finally ending up at Thomas Plumbing where he worked until he retired. Brian was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Missoula, MT for 25 years, singing in the choir and serving as an assistant pastor.
He loved woodworking and made many toys for his nieces and nephews. He made spoon racks for his mother, who was an avid spoon collector. Brian also loved gardening and the outdoors. He was always up for a game of pinochle. He had a camper and took many trips to parks and wilderness areas. He was an avid reader and a dog lover and had numerous dogs named after characters from Lord of the Rings. He most recent constant companion was a Chesapeake Gilgalad (Gilly).
He is survived by his siblings Dale Allen Pommer, Deborah Greenwell, and Sharon Peterson, his two ex-wives Susie Floyd and Diann Claypool, and nine nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Kay Evans, and niece Monique Penman.
