Bradley J. Kannegieter, age 55 of Lake Norden, formerly of Willow Lake, the son of Harry D. and Loris (Warkenthien) Kannegieter, died peacefully in the Avera McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls late Thursday, August 22, 2019.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 11AM in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark with The Reverend Terry Drew officiating.  Honorary casketbearers will be Nolan and Nordean Froke.  The pianist will be Dorothy Fuller with Tia Michalski Felberg and Darin Michalski providing special music.  A dinner will follow in the funeral home reception area.  Burial will be private in the Collins Cemetery at Willow Lake.

He was born on March 13, 1964 at Sioux City, Iowa.  Brad was adopted by Harry Dean and Loris (Warkenthien) Kannegieter at the age of 4 weeks.  They lived in Bancroft until he was 2 years old and then moved to Brandon where they lived for 3 years.  The family lived in Willow Lake where he attended school through the 8 th grade.  He attended James Valley Christian School for one year, and then finished his last 3 years of high school at Huron, graduating in 1983 from a special education program.

Brad then attended the Black Hills Rehabilitation School for a year and a half at Spearfish.

He married Karla Myers at Britton in 1994.  They lived most of their adult life in Willow Lake.  He prayed to receive Jesus as his Savior at 10 years old.  Brad attended Sunday School, Bible School and Youth Group, and was later confirmed.  He took part in a Bible correspondence course through Child Evangelism Fellowship for several years.

Brad enjoyed fishing and hunting.  10 years ago Brad became a resident of the Lake Norden Care Center where he was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing cards especially with his special pinochle playing partner, Ray.  The Staff of the care center would take him fishing and to the Castlewood Warrior football games, of which he was a self-proclaimed assistant coach and an enthusiastic fan.

Survivors include his wife Karla of Willow Lake, his mother, Loris Kannegieter of Lake Norden, a brother Larry (Betty) Kannegieter of DeSmet, a sister, Lori Kannegieter of Denver, CO, step-son, Jeff Adkins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins.

Preceding him in death was his father Harry Dean Kannegieter, maternal grandparents, John and Rosetta Kannegieter and his paternal grandparents, Emmet and Clara Warkenthien.
