McMillan, Virgil Thomas May 1, 1952 - June 19 2009 of Columbia Heights, MN, passed away at home with family after a long illness. He was born in Watertown, South Dakota to Glen and Beverly (Smith) McMillan.

A graveside service, along with the burial of his ashes and his mothers, Beverly (Smith) Connor, will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 2PM at Rose Hill Cemetery at Clark.  Following the burial, a reception will be held at the Ullyot Building, Clark City Hall.

He attended school in Clark until 1969 when his family moved to Columbia Heights, MN. After graduation from High School in 1971, he entered the US Air Force where he served in Vietnam. He worked for a time in Mitchell, South Dakota. He later returned to MN where he worked at the Sears outlet on Central Ave. and later Hardees.

Virgil enjoyed reading, history, cross word puzzles, and watching Jeopardy.  He liked to challenge his own knowledge.  He wrote poetry, enjoyed long walks, and dancing – never knowing when he would grab you for a whirl. Many friends were made on his long walks.

Virgil was always there to help anyone with whatever needed to be done, big or small.  He especially looked forward to spending time with his nephew Allan.

He always said, "I am living with cancer, not dying from cancer".  Once it got close to his time he said, "Think of me on a long vacation until we meet again".
