Betty K Rahm

Betty K. Rahm, 88, Sioux Falls, formerly of Turton, died in the Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls early Thursday morning, January 31, 2013. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4th, 2013 from 5-7PM with a Liturgical Wake service at 7PM all in the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark. The Reverend John Short will officiate the wake service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 5th at 10AM in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Turton with The Reverend Michael Kelly officiating. Visitation will be also at the Church after 9AM. Burial will follow the mass in the St. Joseph Cemetery at Turton. She was born Betty Kjordis Crumrine on July 31, 1924 near Harmony, Johnson County, Arkansas, the daughter of Ida Maude (Weber) and Emmanuel Crumrine. In 1936 she moved with her mother to South Dakota. On January 27, 1940 she was united in marriage to Floyd V. Rahm at Watertown, SD. She lived in the Turton community where she was a homemaker. While living in Turton, Betty served on the Turton Town Board for 10 years. In 1984 she moved to Sioux Falls where she was employed as a homemaker/companion for the elderly, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed her family and friends, reading, crocheting, writing letters and keeping photo albums. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. While in Turton she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas - holding several offices and a member of the Court of St. Berenice #1432. She was a charter member of the Double V's extension homemaker's club and continued her membership for 27 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, sons-in-law, Stephen Rambo and Denwood Hult; half-brothers, Albert, Lester, Manly, and Walter; half-sisters, Eva Taylor, Lenora Elkins, Mae Kleasner, and Hattie Milholen; two infant sons, Floyd, Jr. and Maurice James, two infant daughters, Patty Sue and Ellen Elizabeth and an un-named infant. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Diana Rambo of Clinton, UT, Richard (Diane) Rahm of Turton, Douglas (Kristine) Rahm of Sioux Falls and Madonna Hult of Volin, SD, 8 grandchildren, Christopher and Jeffrey Rambo, Shawn (Chad) Fischer, Nicole & Nathan Rahm and Josiah (Alyssa), Micaela and Jonathan Hult and 7 great-grand-children, Christopher Rambo, Jr., Kayla, Riley & Logan Fischer, Julian and Preston Rahm and Emsley Hult.
