Betty Irene Loterbauer, age 63, Clark, died at her home on Sunday, December 23, 2018.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel in Clark, SD.  Pastor Colin Beveridge will officiate. Following the service, a lunch will be hosted by Betty's family at the Ullyot Building/City Hall Complex, in Clark, SD. Burial will be in the spring of 2019 in the Crandall Cemetery in Crandall, SD.

Betty Irene Loterbauer was born on May 19, 1955 in Deadwood, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Herbert Lee and Adeline (Gross) Loterbauer.  She attended schools in Clark County near the Crocker and Crandall areas. Betty was able to live in many delightful areas within her life time; Raymond, SD, Park Rapids, MN, Winnipeg, Canada, Dawson, MN, Aberdeen, WA and most recently making her home in Clark, SD.

On April 17, 1976 Betty was united in marriage to Timothy Kohrs at the Crocker Lutheran Church in Crocker.  From this union two children were born, Anthony and Samantha.

Betty worked for a short time but her best job was being a stay at home mom. Besides taking care of her own children she took care of her nieces, nephews, her friend's children and many more children within her neighborhood.

Betty was blessed with a gift to take the simplest of items and craft them into something amazing and beautiful. She could take an empty plastic water bottle and turn it into a whirly-gig that would magically come alive once placed in the window or hung from a tree branch. Betty also spent many hours sewing vibrant quilts for her family and friends.

When Betty wasn't crafting she enjoyed reading. She was one of a few people that could pick up a book and finish reading it in one night. Betty was an adventurist when it came to cooking and baking as she never really had an exact recipe to follow.

Betty loved to chat to anyone and everyone. It did not matter if you were walking on the street, chatting on the phone or over Facebook; she always had a story to tell. Her best stories were about her children, grandchildren, or one of her many family members or friends.

Betty's survivors include her son and daughter in law, Anthony and Maria Kohrs, her daughter Samantha Kohrs, two grandsons Tre Wolfe and Brayden Kohrs, and one granddaughter Desarae Kohrs; all of Park Rapids, MN.

Also surviving are Betty's siblings, Rickie (Trina) Loterbauer of Box Elder, SD, Teresa (Ernie) Kohrs of Marion, SD, Boyd Loterbauer of Watertown, SD, Mavis Smith of Portland, OR, Herbert II (Char) Loterbauer of Watertown, SD and Sharon (Joel) Schnackenberg of Dawson, MN, several cousins, many nieces and nephews along with great-nieces and nephews; and endless amounts of very dear friends.

Betty was preceded in death by both parents and two nephews; Allen Kohrs & Michael Schnackenberg.

Arrangements are with the Furness Funeral Home at Clark where there is an on-line registry at www.furnessfuneralhome.com
