Betti Lou Hansen, age 84, rural Clark, died on December 2, 2011 in a Spartanburg, SC hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. She was in North Carolina visiting her daughter, Holly. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 11AM in the St. John's Lutheran Church at Bradley with Minister Marion Grimes officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Hill Cemetery at Bradley. The organist will be Marvine Obermeier with special music by the Bradley-Crocker Church Choir. There will be no visitation. Betti Lou Peterson was born March 3, 1927 to Marvin and Florence (Strom) Peterson. She was born in the Bradley Hospital, and graduated from Bradley High School in 1945. Betti was a cheerleader, active in band, and tap dancing. She also loved horses, and spent many hours riding and showing horses. After graduating from high school, Betti attended Colorado State University in Boulder, CO. She taught high school English in Manderson, Wyoming for one year. In 1949, Betti married Jack E. Hansen at St. John's Church in Bradley. Jack was still in the Marines at that time, so their first home was near Camp Pendleton, CA. After Jack was discharged, they moved back to Garden City, and they began farming. Jack and Betti had 4 children; Wendy Hansen Crabtree of Bradley, Jack D. Hansen of Garden City, Holly Hansen of Columbus NC, and Doug Hansen of Garden City. In 1972, Jack and Betti were divorced, and Betti continued living on their farm near Garden City, and helping her son Jack with the farming operation. During her adult life, Betti was active as a 4-H Club leader, a Sunday school teacher, a home extension member, and a member of St. John's Church and the Church choir. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchild and was an active part of all their lives. She enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening and planting trees and flowers. She loved being outside and watching things grow. Betti loved animals, especially horses and her little dog Oreo. She enjoyed traveling, and had many friends all over the world. She had a passion for art and dance, and also new and unique experiences. Grateful to have shared in her life were her 4 children; Wendy (Hansen) Crabtree, Jack D. and Joyce Hansen, Holly Hansen and Doug and Tina Hansen. Her grandchildren, Jenni and Mike, Thea and Will, Jed and Caleb, and great grandchild Kooper. Also her sister and brother in law, Bonni and Ron Glock of Bozeman, MT.
