Audrey B Beatty

AUDREY B. BEATTY was born at Clark, SD on January 24, 1902, the daughter of Robert Howard and Myra Irene (Fuller) Beatty. The Beatty family had homesteaded at Elrod, SD. She died May 1, 2004 at the age of 102 years in Colorado Springs CO. in the Springs Village Nursing Home. She graduated from Clark High School and South Dakota State College. She taught home economics at several schools and ended her formal teaching career by a move to De Pauw University where she was assistant director of the Department of Home Economics for 23 years. She taught one year at Purdue University and was director of Putam County,s Public Welfare Department for 4 years and director of Central Indiana,s AARP. In 1989 Audrey moved to a retirement home in Colorado CO where she was an active participant until the last. She is survived by one sister, Constance Smith, and 11 nieces and nephews and many devoted friends. Inurnment will be in Clark, SD in the Rosehill Cemetery, next to her parents and one brother, Richard Robert. Also preceding her in death were siblings, Wallace, Neil, George and Hazel Bundy, There will be no public services.
