She was raised on their farm in Merton Township and attended a Township elementary school. During the time she attended Clark High School, she was employed by the George Sherwood family and lived with them for a number of years. She graduated from "Normal School" (Teacher's College) and became a teacher in one-room school houses in Clark County. She also served as a long-term substitute at Clark Elementary School in the 1950's. In addition to her skills as a teacher, Arvy had considerable skill as a bookkeeper. She was employed in that capacity by Citizens State Bank of Clark and Clark Roller Feed Mill. She retired from her position at the Mill in the 1970's. Arvy became part of the large Carr family when she was united to Jack Carr on September 23, 1944, in his home town of Caldwell, Idaho. Following Jack's death in 1987, Arvy remained in their home in Clark until 2005. She moved first to the Geise family home in Clark and then to the Wika Apartments. She lived for several years at Wookey Assisted Living before moving to the nursing home in Clark, where she passed away. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Clark, the St. Michael's Altar Society and for many years played cards belonging to a bridge club. She also enjoyed tending to her pet poodle, "Pepi" and in years past, raising Huskies with her husband Jack. Arvy is survived by one sister, Genevieve Stockwell, of Longmont, CO. She held a mother-like position in the lives of numerous nieces and nephews who also survive and who are grateful for her love and support. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Margaret Geise and a brother-in-law, Lee (Helen) Hanson. In addition to her husband, Jack, Arvy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Keith, Emil "Tuffy", and Vincent Geise and sisters Regina Hanson and Valeria Fleischhacker.
