Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Vienna with Pastor Bryan Taffe officiating. Dorothy Fuller will be the pianist and Duane and Char Peterson will sing a duet. Casket bearers will be Bruce Nelson, Butch Hanson, Roy Gjerde, and Brandon Shudy. Following a luncheon at the church, burial will be in the Naples Cemetery at Naples. A closed casket visitation will be held after 9AM at the Church on Thursday, April 20, 2017.
Born June 18, 1929 near Naples to Helmer and Bernice (Hanson) Hiby, Ardean was a lifelong resident of Clark County. Ardean was baptized and confirmed at the Naples Lutheran Church. He attended one room schools and attended Henry High School. He was a longtime farmer, working on the family farm with his parents and he cared for them as they aged.
Ardean was also known for his vast mechanical knowledge and ability to keep equipment running. He loved old cars, especially Packards, and his favorite Case tractors. He enjoyed the annual antique tractor show in Andover. Ardean was also known for his musical abilities and his piano and accordion playing, teaching himself to play by ear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Shirley Harmon and brother-in-law, Fred Harmon.
Survivors include his niece, Annette Lambert of Idaho, two great-nieces, Tracy (Doug) Glatz of Idaho and Lesley Lambert of Luxembourg and two great-great-nieces, Abigail and Madeline of Idaho, along with many cousins and extended family.
