She moved with her family to Brookings County, SD in the early 1900s where she attended country school. In the late teens her family moved to a farm in Fordham Township, southwest of Clark. On February 7, 1924 she was united in marriage to Vernon Austin Wahl. The couple lived and worked on a farm in Clark County for a short time before moving to Ashton in Spink County and working there. In 1926 they moved to Thorp Township in Clark County later to Maydell Township and then in 1941 to the farm in Woodland Township, northwest of Clark. Mr. Wahl died on February 8, 1971. She had continued to live in her own home, even past the age of 100, on the farm until moving to the Beverly Healthcare Center at Clark in January of 2003. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church at Clark, the Clark Senior Citizens, a Craft Club and the Clark County Historical Society where she enjoyed participating in many Heritage Day celebrations. Some of her hobbies included reading, gardening, raising flowers, especially gladiolus. She would share her beautiful flowers during worship services at the Church during the summertime.
