About Us
Our Story
In 1928, Henry Skogmo had the first funeral home here, hiring Spencer Nash as the manager. Mr. Nash moved the business here to its present location. After his death in 1956, David Haugland purchased the business and operated it until retiring in 1991 after 45 years.
In July of 1990, Greg Furness, a Clark native, was hired to manage the firm for Roger Osthus of DeSmet. After five years of operating the business, Mr. Furness purchased the firm in July of 1995 and joined with Pioneer Enterprises, Inc., a regional employee-owned operation. He had been the managing partner of the firm but retired from the day-to-day business in June 2022, still assisting with services when possible.
In September of 2023, Kelly Hyke started at Furness Funeral Home as a Licensed Funeral Director and the Manager of Furness Funeral Home.
In October of 2024, Emerald Anderson joined Furness Funeral Home as a licensed Funeral Director and Assistant Manager. The Furness Funeral Home staff is dedicated to giving full consideration and understanding to your family's wishes, with a genuine concern for the costs of those wishes. We look forward to being a part of this community for many years to come
